Elgin Bungalows
412 Bluff City Blvd.
Smittie's Tavern on Bluff City Boulevard was built as a bungalow in 1927 for William & Eva Schmitz. It served as a barbecue restaurant until the end of prohibition in 1933. There's an unsubstantiated story that the first beer to be poured in Elgin after the repeal of prohibition was poured here.
